Balustrades and Fortresses
Today, my father gave my brother a shirt he got from his recent visit to Davao. The shirt was too small and a little bit overboard for my brother's taste. I thought to myself, "Hey, even pants fade."
I think a cemetery is a good place to reflect on life. The green-ness of the surroundings compensates the bowed heads of fellow mourners. The sky reminds you of the otherworld as your brain flashes the fragmented images of your dead loved ones. You wonder how they are now or what have they been doing. At the end of the day, you'd realize that it's just all a dream.
(Every time I visit my brother's grave I never fail to think about the life he could have lived. He must have been a pilot now. He must have played L4D with me or dug the same music I listen to. We would probably have a double deck bed instead of this solitary one. We could have played Monopoly along with my little brother. Or stuck with each other when we get into school troubles. Oh, our lives could have been a lot more fun! But everything has to end. Even my old trusty staedtler eraser's dying on me. Forever does not exist in this kind of world.)
Today is the responsible-me day! I did my post-lab in Chem all by myself, listened to the lectures in ES21 and Chem31 very very very attentively, and shopped for groceries at the supermarket. I even feel exhausted but gratified right now. I wish I am always like this. But nah, tomorrow I am most probably back to the lazy-me again. BV. KBYE. Sleepy like Zzzz.
P.S. This cemetery post is brought about by reading too much of Her Fearful Symmetry. Man, it really strikes a nerve. Hauntingly.
