Great Days

in a few hours, i’'ll be departing to puerto gallera. the weather is balmy and the morning is promising. today will be great. i’ve been telling myself that i have to do it for me. this isn’t only about goals i’d check off of my vision list that pertains to the future and the past. this is also about the present. the rationality of the things that i’ve been doing recently seems impaired so i want to make these all right. i’m quite daunted by the mere thought that i’d be on my own, i have to be honest. but it’s all the more exciting and self-redeeming.

i’m now reading jeanette winterson’s sexing the cherry, and this paragraph struck me:

“Every journey conceals another journey within its lines: the path not taken and the forgotten angle. These are the journeys I wish to record. Not the ones I made, but the ones I might have made, or perhaps did make in some other place or time.”

i’ve also been reading daul kim’s blog. i like how she thinks and writes very similar to zhou. someday i want to understand her more and i’m certain that when that day finally comes, i’m all better and wiser.

"Each day, we're given many opportunities to open up or shut down. The most precious opportunity presents itself when we come to the place where we think we can't handle whatever is happening."
