yesterday:
it wasn't a good morning. i had to be in school early because i needed to get enlisted in pi and nat sci 2/sts. unfortunately i woke up late so i arbitrarily decided that i won't take summer classes anymore (see how small the mistake was yet the ramification was astounding) i was thinking of how i'd spend this summer especially when it seems to me that it'd be bleak and eventless.
lola called me as i was whining away to my brother. would you like to watch a movie with your cousins, she asked. after 3 hours, i changed my clothes, donned my cardigan, and sped away like i'm chasing daylight.
lola was already waiting for me at our usual meeting place. a lot has changed since i went there, i noticed. the fixtures inside the game place were new and contemporary, a newly-built, posh general hospital stood a block away from where we were, high-end restaurants ran along the entirety of the mall's annex, and everything looked so alive. i took a glance at lola: her hair was unkempt, her skin sagged and dried by the years, her eyes were wobbly and hazy, and she didn't change a bit unlike the fixtures, the buildings, the restaurants, and almost every element that makes up the environment she's in.
i surprised myself as i told her my worries and plans in the future. i confided in her that i was a bit sad for the upcoming spp, that i'm scared of not handling the pressure of living a solo life, that i'm not who i think i was, and these are the things that i can't tell (right now) my mother. she took all my thoughts in, and told me that i can do it whatever the circumstances may be. and when it finally sunk in, i realized that i have done almost everything that was asked of me, haven't i? the only things that i don't finish are the things that i require myself, and this is not how i want it to be. i'm working on it like i always do.
faye aizle and i, then, had merienda at sb. i ordered chai tea latte, and faye and aizle had full-leaf tea latte and mocha frappe respectively. we paired up our drinks with spinach and cheese, sausage, and parmesan croissants. i told faye that i have a new craving (the very awkwardly-looking spinach and cheese croissant of baker's passion), thanks to her! i was even thinking of buying a dozen of it because we don't have baker's passion in north edsa :( afterwards, we watched the roommate and i liked it for all its ugliness and cliched concepts. oh well.
this 14-year old girl's cover of bon iver's skinny love is mind-blowing. she's an angel. :)
