december 24, saturday
the city of hong kong greeted us with bone-chilling winds and a city temperature of about 11 degrees celcius. i feel like i am not my best when confronted with such scathing and blunt climate. so, feebly and steadily i find my way along the ancient concrete streets of kowloon. prior: the airport terminal arrival was a seesawing feat comprised of proximate escalators and reverse express trains. people rush up and down the stairs / escalators, with their luggages always seeming to carry their dear lives left with such escapism in their homes. gibberish words, foreign and resounding, hovered overhead, teetering toward us. could he be swedish? always (this i realized): a question of where you came from, then: what you are.
in the afternoon, we left tsim shah tsui and headed to ocean park via riding the mtr/the city bus. by this time, i was already teeming with enough city joy stirred with peaking weariness due to lack of sleep. on the bus, i sat adjacent to a middle-aged man of no face (no, wasn't able to take a peek of what he looked like). he was chinese and a father. shout out: 'hi, i like how you smell'.
LOVE PANDAS~
