It's the loneliest feeling in the world; to find yourself standing up when everyone else is sitting down. To have everyone look at you and say," What is wrong with her?" I know what it feels like walking down an empty street, listening to the sounds of your own footsteps. Shutters closed, blinds drawn, doors locked against you. And you aren't sure whether you're walking towards something, or if you're just walking away.
Just finished my calculus homework. It was fun solving math problems especially those that need to be graphed.
Speaking of Calculus, I am really going to take BS biological engineering, chemistry and chemical engineering in MAPUA. Haha. That depends if I will pass their entrance examination. My whole dream in UP vanished when I saw the triple degree program in MAPUA. What attracted me more to this is that one can take the course in a quarterly term. It would be more productive and time saver to have a course like that. Not to mention, the tuition fee conservation.
Anyway, we attended to a symposium on Global Warming sponsored by The Aboitiz Foundation and The United Nations Information Center. We watched "The Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. It was intellectual and mind-provoking. I never realized how fast the continental ice shelves were steadily depleting. It was pitiful to imagine that in 50 years or so, our continents will be devoured by large amount of waters. Moreover, endangered animals were swiftly becoming extinct. How poor it is to see those polar bears probing for a single mass of ice. Furthermore, global warming contributes to different natural disasters like the frequent surge of typhoons, heat wave, drought, extreme frigidness and the relentless floods in the USA and other parts of the world.
However, as Al Gore pointed out, it depends on us on whether we want to save the world and ourselves or to continue to drift apart. We won't succeed if we will not start to do the right thing to our mother nature. It is also best to start with ourselves and aim higher after that. We should be more mindful and concerned with our planet. No one is going to benefit except our own selves and the next generation. It is our responsibility as a human being to protect the place where we dwell, so if ever there is to blame on what is going on, it is only and solely ourselves. :P
