Obliviate

I asked my mother if she wanted to take a chance on the 500-million peso lotto game, and I was so taken aback with her answer. She said, "You know, 500 million pesos is too much for me. I'm satisfied with what I have." And then I said something like, "But ma, don't you wanna get rich? Faye even bought a lotto ticket, see?". "Rich? Na, I'm happy with my life. I'm too old for that." Then, I told her that she must have reached enlightenment and seen Buddha in her subconscious or something like that. But really, I was amazed at her and envy her all the same.

...BECAUSE YOU SEE I BADLY WANT TO HAVE THAT MUCH MONEY. AND WHEN I HAVE THAT MUCH MONEY I WILL BUY THE WORLD... FIGURATIVELY OF COURSE. I WILL SPEND EVERY DIME OF IT ON THINGS THAT ARE INSIGNIFICANT AND TEMPORARY LIKE BUYING AN H2 ALPHA HUMMER, EATING AT FANCY RESTAURANTS, STAYING IN 5-STAR HOTELS FOR A YEAR ETC. THEN BY THE TIME I HAVE ALREADY WASTED MY 500-MILLION PESO AWAY, I MIGHT KNOW FOR SURE THAT MONEY CAN'T BUY REAL HAPPINESS AND PROBABLY REACH ENLIGHTENMENT TOO.

Yesterday, we watched the last full show of HP7 at Trinoma. I cannot even begin to describe the movie because it encompassed all the emotions I can think of right now. Enumerating these emotions would totally devoid them of their meanings like saying that a tomato is red and soft and sour... leaving you with questions like, "so what then is a tomato?". Gerrit?

But the movie left me feeling like,

We left the cinema at 1:05 am, and it felt like I owned the world at that exact moment. I was free to wrap myself in the darkness of the surroundings, shed my skin to nakedness, drink the beauty of the full moon, and scream out all my thoughts until the grey-blue sky cries and laughs with me. It was a real infinite moment. And I knew there and then that I was not just in this body; I was in the leaves of the mango tree, in the concrete of our house, in the body of a dog... I was floating, flying, swimming, roaming... everywhere.
