time bank

saturday evening was a postvalentine's day date with laura. caught the vow in sm cinema at 750, loitered around the snack section at 740ish, had dinner at 1000, and deliberately sketched out our hypothetical futures over bento boxes of prawn tempuras and beef misono at 1030ish. time was of the essence, seems callous and grown-up yet concurring with the absence of both parts for roughly 7 months. now i mark the dates when we see each other even though they didn't prove to be of significance for this friendship at least.

along the bridge connecting both malls were discourses of love and love as a social construct. there i was with a psychology major, citing an example out of the movie mona lisa smile and justifying my belief on marriage as a social nicety. the question on whether premarital sex is right or wrong was raised and i still come undecided. feel like i am on the crossfire of both sides, all good and all bad.

laura was the same idealistic romantic only a bit realistic as the time caught her suspended in certain circumstances. i heard her honest words woven into this friendship, words that casted an outward appearance of trust. she knows that i keep these secrets buried in time, in years that we've known each other. perhaps i've yet to tell her my own or maybe she has already known. in any way i know that she'll latch on to my world with acceptance gleaming in her eyes, like saying 'i hug you like pandas clinging on to bamboos'.
